Pastor Schroeder – Installation
During this special service, Pastor Daniel Schroeder will be installed as Our Redeemer Lutheran Church’s new full-time pastor. One of Pastor Schroeder’s two sons, who are also in ministry within the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), will be the guest preacher for his father’s installation. Following the service, there will be a dinner.
Since the founding of our church here in Santa Barbara, some 50 years ago, we have been blessed with devoted pastors who have served and nurtured us in Word and Sacrament. Most recently, our pastor was Pastor James Proeber, who retired last November 2024 after 24 years with us. During this transitional period, we have also been blessed with Pastor Charles Found, as our vacancy pastor, who has taken us under his wing and devoted himself to serving us as any full-time pastor would. We are so thankful for him and his wife, Lois, for embracing this congregation as their own. We also give thanks to all our guest pastors these last few weeks, in particular, Pastor Steven Degner. Pastor Degner was the first full-time pastor here at Our Redeemer. Now retired, Pastor Degner subsequently served in Arizona and Santa Maria, CA., where he now resides. With a new pastor on his way, we give thanks and praise to the Lord for graciously answering our prayers in such a timely manner. We eagerly await the arrival of Pastor Schroeder and his wife, Linka.
