Mid-week Bible Study
Following our previous study of 1st Kings we are proceeding now with 2nd Kings.
1st Kings concluded with the work of Elijah and the death of Ahab, the King of Israel. The second book of Kings focuses on the life and ministry of Elisha the prophet, the invasion of the Assyrians, God’s mercy to Hezekiah, good king Josiah, and the start of the Babylonian Captivity.
Throughout the history of the divided kingdom, one lesson stands clear—God’s faithfulness to his promise to send the Savior. It was that promise which offered hope along with forgiveness. It is a lesson which we certainly appreciate today.
